How to use this calculator
Enter a Facebook Star count to see what creators earn and what viewers pay, or toggle to USD → Stars mode and type a dollar amount to find out how many Stars it buys. Use the preset buttons for common values like 100, 500, or 10,000 Stars.
The results panel shows the creator payout ($0.01 per Star, set by Meta), the approximate viewer cost (~$0.014 per Star from US pack pricing), and Meta’s implied platform margin. All math runs locally in your browser — no signup, no data sent anywhere.

How Stars payouts work
Every Facebook Star a viewer sends is worth exactly $0.01 to the creator — that rate is fixed by Meta and does not change with pack size, region, or content type. Earnings accumulate in your Stars balance inside the Professional Dashboard (Monetization → Stars → Earnings). Meta pays out once your balance reaches the $25 minimum payout threshold in the US.
Payouts are processed on a monthly cycle, typically around the 21st of the month following the month you earned the Stars. Funds go to the bank account or PayPal address linked in your payout settings — Meta does not charge a per-transaction fee on the creator side. The entire platform cut is taken from the viewer’s purchase price, so your $0.01-per-Star rate is net. You can track pending and completed payouts in the Professional Dashboard’s Payout History tab. Stars vs TikTok Gifts vs YouTube Super Chat
Creator-share comparison across the three major video platforms (2026).
| Metric | Facebook Stars | TikTok Gifts | YouTube Super Chat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creator share per $1 viewer spend | ~$0.71 | ~$0.50 | ~$0.70 |
| Minimum payout threshold | $25 | $5 | $100 |
| Minimum followers to qualify | 500 | 1,000 | 1,000 subs + 4K watch hrs |
Facebook Stars offer the lowest entry barrier and a competitive creator share. TikTok’s $5 threshold means faster first payouts, while YouTube requires the highest follower count and watch-time commitment but keeps a similar revenue split.
